Bueno, a todos que leen mi blog finalmente tengo una foto del hombre que era y es el mas especial de mi vida en Bolivia y en USA por siempre y siempre. Aunque no este conmigo ahora en USA, siempre estara conmigo. Siempre.
Hace tiempo pasamos muchas, muchas cosas juntos y al final de todo el me ayudo creer y confiar de nuevo. El me mostro como es amar y me mostro que hay personas todavia en este mundo quien ama puramente y quien dice la verdad cuando es la verdad. Nunca en mi vida pense que iba a pasar unos tiempos tan duros, tan exigentes, tan feos que pase por un tiempo. No le abandone ni el a mi. Nunca en mi vida habia pasado (ni imaginaba) todo que pase con el pero sobrevivimos y tenemos algo que nos conecta aun lejos fisicamente. Lo crei en el y sigo creyendo en el. Tiene todo el talento, todo el don de hacer lo que desea con su vida. Le doy gracias a Dios que me permitio estar en la vida de Miguel y que mantengo este contacto. Para ti baby…eres mi heroe y hasta el fin de mi vida, seras el hombre que cambio mi vida por siempre.
Well, I haven’t blogged in awhile so I thought I needed to do a little since I am very stressed this week with some lack of professionalism issues that I have run up against. I almost sang that song, “Take this job and shove it…I ain’t workin here no more” but overall, the semester is moving along great.
Dr. Kania’s History of the Spanish language is so difficult but she is a great teacher and I am learning a lot which is what is important. My TESOL classes are right on target with what I need to learn and they complement by Spanish classes and GTA teaching. My 1441 students are awesome and I am so much happier teaching university students than high schoolers. It has helped me to focus myself in not what I planned to do 20 years ago but what I want to do now. They are just wanting to learn…all you have to do is show them you want to teach them and you care…unlike high school where that attitude for over 13 years gave me discipline problems and a plethora of other problems that I havent had to think about. No patrolling the bathrooms, no confiscating cell phones, and no looking at what someone is wearing and deciding if it is “appropriate or not”…what a waste of my time and a slap to my professionalism to be demoted to confiscator, police, and dean of clothing. I dont even want to think about that anymore. It is dreamy as Marsha from the Brady Bunch would say.
I am working on a film analysis of Antes que Anochezca for my Latin American Revolution class. It is allowing me to look at the movie from a totally different perspective. Hopefully, I will be able to adapt it to a conference presentation. More to come!!!

El presidente venezolano Hugo Chávez dijo que se considera lo suficientemente “macho” como para pulverizar acusaciones de homosexual vertidas contra él, de las que se hizo eco el español Luis María Ansón, miembro de la Real Academia de la Lengua.
“Me han acusado de todo. Solo faltaba que me acusasen de homosexual. Bueno, ya comenzaron a acusarme de homosexual. Yo no tengo nada contra los homosexuales porque respeto cualquier condición humana, pero eso sí, me considero lo suficientemente macho para pulverizar cualquier acusación al respecto”, dijo Chávez.
El presidente venezolano salía así al paso de las acusaciones sobre su homosexualidad durante una intervención ante miles de simpatizantes en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, 350 kilómetros al oeste de Caracas.
“No me importa nada. Digan de mí lo que les dé la gana. Yo vine aquí a cumplir el compromiso jurado con el pueblo al que amo y al que le daré mi vida, toda mi vida. Para nada me importa que digan lo que me digan y que me amenacen con lo que me amenacen”, añadió Chávez.
“No trato de ofender a nadie al hacerme eco de lo que muchos homosexuales serios afirman a través de Internet del caudillo venezolano. Aseguran que es gay aunque no haya salido del armario”, escribió Ansón en el mencionado artículo.
I love this picture. It is from Sobrevivire (I will Survive 1999) with Juan Diego Botto (he is in the middle). He is introducing his ex-partner on the left to his new partner……a mujer! You could feel the tension between these two. If you think it’s bad for a girl to find out her boyfriend has dumped her for a guy, think again because something feels really funny when you are gay and you find out that your ex is now with a girl…..just a LITLLE bit of jealousy, vengeance, etc. The movie was great and I highly recommend it.
Botto is superb in Martin (Hache) too. He left Argentina when he was 2 after his father disappeared in the “Dirty War” and moved to Madrid where he currently lives. The movie is a shockingly honest portrayal of father-son relationships and will make you cry in the end (if you are like me )
Now that summer is over, I hope to jump into my classes. I will have more classes this semester as I hope to relate in more detail later. I hope that I can incorporate some of my class requirements into this blog. ………..more pictures and updates to come.
